The Med-City BBQ! State Championship!

The Med-City BBQ & Musicfest promises to be an event that everyone will look forward to year after year. On August 10th & 11th, 2012 the Olmsted County Fairgrounds will be home to over 50 professional barbeque pit masters competing for $10,000 in cash and prizes.

The goal of the Med City BBQ is to help raise funds for the Rochester Police Athletic League and the Rochester Police Benevolent Association so we may continue bringing meaningful, important crime-prevention programs to at-risk youth in the city of Rochester. On Friday August 10th, 2012 the barbeque cook teams begin their quest for cash, prizes and bragging rights. Cook-teams prepare brisket, chicken, ribs and pork shoulder to be judged by certified Kansas City Barbeque Society judges.  On August 11th, the BBQ turn-in begins.  Teams must keep a close watch on the clock as food turn-in times loom over their heads and the certified judges begin the challenging task of choosing the winners.  Food vendors will be selling world-class  barbeque on Friday…and don’t miss the music festival with local national musicians playing the hottest blues, rock, country music.  Band set sechedule and a full entertainment list will be added soon.
